Which Global Trends could impact your business and what can you do about it?

On October 11th 2010, IMD Professor Tom Malnight visited Denmark and shared the latest findings from his Global Trends research, trying to answer the question above.

Not only did he facilitate a high-level round table discussion over lunch – the first IMD Update session with a select group of decision-makers, graciously hosted by Per Falholt at Novozymes - but he also delivered a presentation in front of 150 IMD Alumni later that same afternoon.

Tom talked about how there often is a large gap between what we know and have traditionally is relied on for success, and what is new and will shape the environment in which we live and operate in.

He addressed the challenges executives face in terms of finding the time to look beyond the short term strategy and actually think about the long term. About the importance of asking ourselves questions about which mega trends will influence our company’s reality for the future and what it will take for the company to be successful. He also presented the audience with a set of interesting questions that could be valuable in this process, in a very fruitful and interactive two-way session.
